Japan’s first 36,000 vph production watch, sold years before hi-beat became a Grand Seiko word. The hand-wound calibre 5740C gives the seconds hand a sweep so smooth it reads as electric. Silver sunburst dial and slim lugs. A quiet way into serious Seiko.

Dial excellent with one faint tone line at 8. Case crisp; caseback lightly scratched from strap changes.

Full service May 2026: cleaned, oiled for the high beat rate, regulated to +5 s/day.
